Terms of ServicePrivacy PolicyContent PolicySupport

1. Purpose and scope

Spendol helps people coordinate personal and shared expenses. This Content Policy applies to everything you submit, upload, create, or send through Spendol, including profile details, expense descriptions, notes, receipts, images, group names, invitations, and support communications.

You are responsible for your content and conduct. Context matters, and we may consider intent, likely harm, and the public or private nature of content when applying this policy.

2. Illegal activity and fraud

  • Do not use Spendol to plan, promote, conceal, or carry out illegal activity.
  • Do not create false expenses, identities, receipts, invitations, balances, or payment claims to deceive another person.
  • Do not use the Service for scams, money laundering, unauthorized financial activity, or evasion of sanctions or legal obligations.
  • Do not attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, devices, data, or systems.

3. Harassment, hate, and threats

  • Do not threaten, stalk, bully, shame, or repeatedly contact someone who does not want contact.
  • Do not attack or demean people based on protected characteristics, or promote hatred or discrimination against them.
  • Do not praise, encourage, or make credible threats of violence or serious harm.
  • Do not use expense names, notes, group names, or invitations to target or humiliate another person.

4. Sexual exploitation and child safety

We may report apparent child exploitation or imminent danger to the appropriate authorities and preservation services as required by law.

  • Never upload or share child sexual abuse material or any content that sexually exploits or endangers a minor.
  • Do not groom, solicit, sexualize, or facilitate inappropriate contact with minors.
  • Do not share intimate imagery without the freely given consent of every person depicted.

5. Privacy and personal information

  • Only upload receipts, photos, contact details, and financial records that you have the right to use and share.
  • Do not expose highly sensitive information such as passwords, authentication codes, full payment-card details, bank credentials, government identification numbers, or private medical information.
  • Do not publish or threaten to publish another person’s private information to intimidate, exploit, or harm them.
  • Use care when adding notes or images to shared records because other participants may be able to view them.

6. Intellectual property and authenticity

  • Do not upload content that infringes copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights.
  • Do not impersonate another person or organization, or misrepresent your relationship with them.
  • Do not remove ownership notices or manipulate records or receipts in a misleading way.

7. Spam and platform abuse

  • Do not send unsolicited or repetitive invitations, messages, or requests.
  • Do not use bots, scrapers, malware, or automated tools to disrupt the Service or collect information without permission.
  • Do not probe, bypass, or interfere with security, rate limits, access controls, or moderation measures.
  • Do not sell, transfer, or provide access to accounts in ways that create risk for other users or the Service.

8. Enforcement

Spendol uses basic automated checks to reject clearly objectionable text in profile details, group names, expense descriptions, invitations, and notes. Automated checks are limited and do not replace reports or human review.

When we reasonably believe content or behavior violates this policy, our Terms of Service, or applicable law, we may limit its visibility, remove it, restrict invitations or sharing, warn the account holder, suspend or terminate access, preserve relevant information, or notify appropriate authorities. We aim to choose a response proportionate to the severity, context, and history of the violation.

We may act immediately where there is a credible risk of fraud, exploitation, violence, account compromise, or significant harm. We may also take steps to prevent users from evading enforcement.

9. Reporting and review

Use Report on a friend page or Report this group in Group settings to send a concern for review. Use Block user to immediately remove the friendship, stop new invitations between you, and hide that person’s profile identity. Shared accounting records remain anonymized when other participants still rely on them.

If in-app controls are unavailable, report content, conduct, or a suspected account compromise to support@spendol.com with enough detail for us to locate and assess the issue. Do not send unnecessary sensitive information.

If you believe we took action in error, contact support@spendol.com and explain why. We will review reasonable requests, although legal, safety, and privacy obligations may limit what we can disclose.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Spendol evolves or new risks emerge. We will post the revised policy with a new effective date and provide additional notice when required.
